Town Center
The Village of Cheshire will be an important anchor and destination community on scenic Black Mountain route when the main street of both sides of Highway 9 is completed. Residents and visitors will enjoy the Town Center and main street amenities which include neighborhood services, restaurants, retail, specialty shops and junior anchor; art galleries and studios; civic buildings and parks; and residential options, such as live/work, multi-housing, apartments and condos in the center of activities. Aside from creating a new livable community, Cheshire's Main Street and Town Center will be a sustainable leader implementing Light Imprint stormwater management techniques which include methods for paving, channeling, storage and filtration of runoff. Some of these tools may include pervious pavement, vegetative swales, green fingers and roof gardens. By using these Light Imprint Tools, the need for costly infrastructure will be reduced and site disturbance will be minimized. The Village of Cheshire will provide a complete, connected, sustainable and mixed use community providing residents with an opportunity to age in place in a lifelong community.
Cheshire Resort
Cheshire Resort will include several pieces all working together towards the same vision of growing community through the Cheshire Lodge, Bed & Breakfast and Conference Center.
The Lodge was designed for larger gatherings and reunions. Situated prominently on the Village Green among the mountain ranges with its grand front porch that is made for socializing, listening to concerts and watching the world go by.
The intimate Inn was designed from the original Farm House that sat in this site at one time, now designed for a Bed and Breakfast bringing the scale of the building back a century to the small hospitality houses that dotted the American countryside and small villages.
The Cheshire Event and Conference Center will be a 2-story anchor building fronting Highway 9, with on-street and rear parking. A semi-attached 1800sf vaulted pavilion structure with movable walls to create smaller meeting spaces, flows out to a brick terrace overlooking the creek, greenway and pedestrian bridge. An additional semi-attached structure of 3600hsf at the main level includes a foyer, reception, administration, lounge and food service. The 3200sf upper level includes additional meeting rooms, suggesting a grand hotel.
